One 21" (length) x 9" (height) psychedelic Orange Spot File Fish sculpture, hand carved and colored by the artists. Chris carefully draws out and carves each original piece from 120-year-old solid white oak barn wood from East Tennessee. After carving, Kristine sands and hand dyes the fish with natural, bright green, orange, blue color. To finish, the fish receives multiple coats of an environmentally friendly, low VOC lumber seal. This unique sculpture shows off the gorgeous grain of the reclaimed wood, and will add a vibrant pop of color to any wall.
This original one-of-a-kind sculpture would make the perfect gift for anyone who wants to add a bit of whimsy and fun to a room. The Orange Spot Filefish would make a great gift for an avid SCUBA diver or reef tank hobbyist. This fish would look beautiful as a centerpiece in your beach house, in a man cave, or next to your tropical fish tank.
The white oak originates from a dilapidated barn in East Tennessee which Chris took down himself. Each piece has been carefully selected, treated organically with borax and cedar oil, and stored out of the elements. The backside has been left raw and includes a hook for hanging and Chris' signature.
We feel each piece of barn wood has a story to tell and we want that story to come out in our art work.
Recommended for inside display out of direct sunlight.
