24" x 7.5" Red Drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) carved from 120 year-old solid white oak barnwood. Sanded smooth and stained in red mahogany with two coats of varnish, this unique sculpture shows off the gorgeous grain of the wood.
This original one-of-a-kind sculpture would make the perfect gift for any fisherman (or woman!) or would look beautiful as a centerpiece on your wall.
The wood originates from a dilapidated barn in East Tennessee which I took down myself (see our blog page). Each piece has been carefully selected, treated organically with borax and cedar oil, and stored out of the elements.
I feel each board has a story to tell and I want that story to come out in my art work.
