Rainbow Trout Barnwood Sculpture stained in Cherry
One 19" x 5.5" RainbowTrout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) carving, stained with red mahogany and two coats of varnish. This unique sculpture shows off the gorgeous grain and cool nail holes of the 120 year-old reclaimed and recycled white oak barnwood siding.
This original one-of-a-kind sculpture would make the perfect gift for any fisherman (or woman!) and would look beautiful as a centerpiece on your wall, man-cave decoration, or in your cabin.
The white oak originates from a dilapidated barn in East Tennessee which I took down myself. Each piece has been carefully selected, treated organically with borax and cedar oil, and stored out of the elements. The backside has been left raw and includes a hook for hanging and my signature.
I feel each piece of barnwood has a story to tell and I want that story to come out in my art work.
