One 30" x 15" reclaimed barnwood walking American Black Bear (Ursus americanus) carving, stained with Cherry stain and then two coats of semi-gloss varnish. Mrs. Black Bear is walking through the Smoky Mountains searching for the some yummy acorns to fill her belly before the long winter. This unique sculpture shows off the gorgeous grain of the solid white oak wood and will add character to any wall.
This original one-of-a-kind sculpture would make the perfect gift for any animal lover!
The wood originates from a dilapidated barn in East Tennessee which I took down myself. Each piece has been carefully selected, treated organically with borax and cedar oil, and stored out of the elements. The backside has been left raw and includes a wire for hanging and my signature.
I feel each board has a story to tell and I want that story to come out in my art work.
