Zebra Plecostomus Fish Carving
Fish Wood Carving Sculpture, Zebra Plecostomus (Hypancistrus zebra) black and white tropical fish is carved out of 125-year old solid white oak reclaimed barn wood, and painted with acrylic paint. Approximately fifty hours of carving and painting have gone into this sculpture.
38 1/2" long by 14" high
This art piece makes a stunning statement with its bold black and white stripes and simplistic design.
The zebra "Plecostomus" is a highly desired, and rare fish for the tropical freshwater hobbyist. In the wild, this two inch fish can be found in freshwater rivers and streams of Brazil.
The barnwood has been salvaged from a 125 year-old solid white oak barn in East Tennessee, which I took down myself. Each piece has been treated organically with borax and cedar oil. The backside has been left raw and includes hooks and wire for hanging and my signature.
