Bonnie the Vlamingi Tang is an amazing fish who currently resides in a huge reef aquarium at Eco Reef Corals (Venice, FL). Full of personality this tang always wants attention and will come right up to you wanting some love. It even beckons for its owners to pet it and scratch its sides!
This beautiful species is found throughout the South Pacific and I have had the pleasure diving with both small and huge Vlamingi Tangs. As juveniles, they travel as a closely knit school and as two foot graceful and elegant adults they cruise silently by, ever watchful of your movements. This gorgeous fish gets prettier with age with its brilliant blue and purple vertical markings with the males developing long beautiful streamers from its tail. It also has the ability to darken or lighten its coloring depending on the environment or mood.
