Walking Baby Black Bear Barnwood Sculpture stained in Cherry
One 18" x 9.5" reclaimed barnwood walking American Black Bear (Ursus americanus) carving, stained with cherry stain and then two coats of semi-gloss varnish. This unique sculpture shows off the gorgeous grain of the solid white oak and will add character to any wall.
Baby Black Bear is following his mother through the Smoky Mountains hoping to get a nice drink of milk while her mother forages for acorns.
This original one-of-a-kind sculpture would make the perfect gift for any animal lover!
The wood originates from a dilapidated barn in East Tennessee which I took down myself. Each piece has been carefully selected, treated organically with borax and cedar oil, and stored out of the elements. The backside has been left raw and includes a wire for hanging and my signature.
I feel each board has a story to tell and I want that story to come out in my art work.
